What are some good books to read for a 7th grader?

I need help looking for a good book to read for school. I hate romance and death and vampires. Some books i love reading are Cracker,Dewey,Hoot and Rules. I also love animal book NOT animal facts. It needs to keep me entertained. I read books with about 300 pages.
